Effective January 1, 2018, a new Tennessee law prohibits handheld cell phone usage in active school zones. An active school zone is defined when the lights are flashing and/or a crossing guard is present. Hands-free usage is permitted. Our police department, in an effort to keep our children and other drivers safe, will begin enforcing this new law. Please discontinue handheld cell phone usage in active school zones immediately. Thank you and safe travels!
